Dr. Laura Ilari tells us about some news in the dental field.
We have the pleasure of meeting Dr. Laura Ilari in her dental practice in Città di Castello which she manages together with Dr. Mauro Billi. The two professionals have shared the same mission for many years, which takes the form of cutting-edge dental care and elective aesthetic treatments. Dr. Ilari and Dr. Billi, guided by the most modern technologies and a continuous study of the subject, have created excellence in the medical panorama of Umbria and Tuscany.
The philosophy of the Ilari & Billi studio is now known for high-level dental and aesthetic treatments: “The practice has expanded over the years, with a view to creating increasingly complete and specialized professional services; especially with regard to the areas of aesthetics and digitized impressions (through the intraoral scanner) to design and create beautiful and harmonious smiles. “In complex surgical interventions,” she continues, “the use of the scanner combined with the use of the CT scan, allows us to plan the work and the intervention itself through the study of the case, both for the operational/functional part and for the expected aesthetic outcomes.”
An often underestimated but very common pathology, explains Dr. Ilari, is periodontitis, which is a chronic inflammation caused by the persistent presence of bacteria on the tooth surface. If left undiagnosed and treated, it can result in tooth loss and affect overall health; Chronic inflammation, in fact, can contribute to the development or aggravation of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Thanks to a thorough examination, followed by an oral hygiene session, the problem can be identified and, if diagnosed in time, it can be treated or at least try to slow down the course.
Dr. Mauro Billi, who deals with implantology, prosthetics and oral surgery, especially in the most complex cases, confirms that: “The practice has always tried to keep up with the times, continuously investing in new technologies. The most tangible examples are digital devices for radiodiagnostics – which allow real-time panoramic and CT scans of the dental arches – and intra-oral scanners for taking dental impressions”, he points out.
“Immediate loading implantology – continues Dr. Billi – is a sort of daily treatment that ends within the day, with an absolute predictability of the result, both functional and aesthetic, for much less discomfort and reduced stress”. For this reason, the presence of an anesthesiologist in the office with conscious sedation is provided for maximum comfort and operability”. In short, a faster and less painful operation.
Dr. Laura Ilari is proud of her team of assistants: Angelica Malatesta Pierleoni, Tiziana Traversini, Chiara Esposito, Francesca Mariotti and Sonia Donati at the secretariat and reception – as well as her son and collaborator Riccardo Donati. She is assisted by doctors Dr. Giacomo Fabbiani (dentistry, endodontics), Dr. Marzia Failli (orthodontics and aesthetic medicine) and Dr. Benedetta Paoli (pedodontics and conservative). The hygienists are Carolina Bonciani and Samanta Albrizio, until a few years ago assistant in the chair who is now a dental hygienist.
