In the magical setting of Santa Maria degli Angeli I discovered a very interesting and unique showroom, an unusual space dedicated to the home seen in its entirety. The owner, Gina Ambrosi, has set it up with passion and enthusiasm; I perceived this from the outside and then breathed deeply when I entered and I was able to listen to the story of commitment, imagination and passion for her work.
It was necessary to discover all the steps of her experience in order to understand how she got to our days with a unique idea in the area!
She started out as a surveyor, but in 1997, she was convicted by the revealing encounter with a professional who made her discover interior design. “It was then that I knew I wanted to move from the cold world of enclosures to the warmer, softer world of interiors.”
Thus began her career as an interior designer collaborating with architects, local companies in the furniture sector and other professionals in the construction sector, always accompanying customers step by step from the project, in the various stages of construction, up to the choice of furnishings, finishes and every accessory. In 2009, her passion for her work led her to create one of the first websites dedicated to online interior design and consultancy.
She tells me that at the time blogs were points of reference for users looking for advice and furnishing proposals and Gina was able to fulfill that type of request as well, thus crossing the borders of the Umbrian territory with her professionalism. This was the input that gave life to her first real design studio, opened in Bastia Umbra in 2013.Yet her dream has always been to be able to combine the theory and abstractionism of design with an exhibition – one that would be physically able to offer its customers sensory and visual experiences.
Gina, this is her sensitivity – has always seen the ‘house’ as a dress to be tailor-made: “Every house is different because every person who will live in it is!”. So in 2018 she inaugurated her interior atelier by combining the design studio with a 175sqm showroom, defined by herself as a tailoring workshop and right in the window I noticed an old Singer, testifying to the strong desire to express this concept.
These premises are necessary to describe the service of this elegant Atelier, where Gina Ambrosi designs, renovates and furnishes every type of space with over twenty years of experience and professionalism for over twenty years.
The design service is clearly the basis: “Understanding and interpreting the ideas, needs and expectations of the client, I put each element in order, composing the puzzle which, thanks also to the sophisticated 3D graphics available today, gives life to a personalized home tailored to his needs and style preferences, allowing him to visualize every finished environment of all the details, from the floor to the furniture, to the curtains, up to the lighting, even before starting any type of intervention”.
She tells me that the heart of his work today is precisely the renovation: in fact, the service that Atelier d’Interni offers is a “turnkey”, thus freeing the customer from any thought, supporting all phases, interfacing with the companies (thanks to consolidated collaborations with specialized technicians) who carry out the work, making sure that they are done according to the project and in a workmanlike manner. The Showroom then becomes the focal point where Gina, with hospitality, makes herself available to customers to understand their expectations and needs and then begin the phase of choosing each element.
Inside it has a materials library of finishes for floors and walls, sanitary ware, taps, a selection of quality furnishings and accessories, to show the latest style trends and design innovations through colours, finishes, materials and furnishings to be selected, combined and mixed wisely.
“My exhibition space also wants to be a presentation of the news in the sector, with an eye to the future” says Gina, who loves to frequently renovate the showroom precisely to allow everyone to discover the updates and bring them into their homes. Her commissions are mainly of a private nature, from apartments to villas and country houses, thus dealing with both interiors and exteriors – but there is no shortage of designs and supplies for commercial establishments, even outside the region.
The distinctive element of Atelier d’Interni therefore lies precisely in the unique service it offers. The customer has the opportunity to rely on a single professional figure and a single supplier to be able to see his dream of home come true, relieving himself of any tension and fatigue, living the experience of construction or renovation in a pleasant and rewarding way. For this reason, the Interior Atelier has chosen to receive by appointment, in order to dedicate the exclusive time necessary to listen and understand individual needs.
