1975 – 2025, half a century of quality.
Fungoamiata for fifty years, it is synonymous with taste and quality. The jars contain delicacies from ancient Tuscan recipes with top quality ingredients. If in the beginning the company – family-run – produced mushrooms, over time new products have entered. From exquisite artichokes to porcini mushrooms passing through sauces, spreads, jams, soups, as well as, of course, the excellent extra virgin olive oil …

Perhaps the key to success lies in simplicity and at the same time in the wise use of raw materials. Classic and unprocessed products, therefore, where the artichoke is perhaps the flagship product: “They are grandmother Vittoria’s idea, processing is a ritual, they bring us fresh artichokes, they are selected by the sorting machine, checked one by one and cooked and seasoned with our secret recipe, the same for decades. Everyone compliments us and appreciates it.” Another very successful product are sauces: «very popular – continues Giacomo – Arrabbiata, Agliata, Basil, Truffle, Porcini … We add excellent tomato pulp and our extra virgin olive oil (a signature), finally they are cooked, they are another excellence and allow you to enjoy a pasta dish like grandma’s in a few minutes». As you can guess from the company name, the company initially processed mushrooms (Pleurotus) sold in oil from an idea of great-grandmother Edvige, then came the champignons, “the mushroom bites”, and finally the legendary porcini with an unbeatable taste, try it to believe it: «they don’t have a low cost – says the owner – but they are unique and we sell a lot of them; Mushrooms are also found in spreadable paste, excellent for croutons, and in the fantastic porcini cream, very versatile, perfect for first courses, second courses or for the most delicious to eat directly in the jar».

Even the pickles, as in a painting by Arcimboldo, are of different types: onion, peppers, tomatoes… But where can they be purchased? «In the Coops, Amiatina, Etruria and Florence, in the Conad, Sma, Carrefour brand stores, and soon at Esselunga; That is, in that “large-scale distribution” that has adopted the system of local products: “We are very pleased to collaborate with them, also because they allow us to be everywhere; But it is also possible to find us in the stores that keep excellent products». In Italy, but not only: “we work a lot with foreign countries, in particular England, the United States, Germany, Switzerland and France, the jars can be ordered from the internet page and in two days they arrive by courier; Many chefs also use them in their restaurants.”
If we talk about soups, all with fresh vegetables, such as Acquacotta or Chickpeas and mushrooms, just open the jar, pour it into the pot, maybe add bread, and they are ready in a few minutes». Then there are the unmissable jams, such as chestnut jams from Monte Amiata.

The family-run company was founded in 1975 by the Angeli brothers, Gastone and Mauro; later handed down to our Father Angeli Andrea who managed the business for another 25 years, and today the tradition continues with the Angeli brothers, Giacomo and David. Together with them, there are father Andrea, mother Simona, then Nunzia, Augusto and Nicoletta… a total of nine people, a small company that makes an important contribution to Amiata, in every jar the geographical element of the mountain is evident. “We recently renewed the image so that it is easily identified in the shelving, each colour represents a category”. Then there is the oil mill: “open since 1998, I call it the people’s oil mill, those who have olives, especially the famous olivastra, can come here, there are only us nearby and it makes us very proud. In the future, we are always looking for new ideas to make our product known as much as possible, through tastings in stores.” It is a constantly evolving company, therefore, where the strength, yesterday as today, remains quality and great versatility.
