We take the opportunity to tell another cross-section of an all-Italian story that represents our entrepreneurial fabric: we are talking about the Perugian company ‘Umbria Colori’.
Rossano Picchiarelli tells us that in 1971 he began his career as a painting representative for a paint factory in Perugia; the first washable coloured colour proposed exclusively in the area: the ‘Ducotone’ from the Montedison company in Montecatini, Pistoia. A fundamental step that will mark a real revolution in the field of construction.
The experience in the sector acquired over time and the great spirit of initiative allow Rossano to consider the idea of creating its own distribution point.
So, at the age of 50 together with his wife Stefania, Rossano founded his creature in Ponte San Giovanni: Umbria Colori.
It is the year 2000, the transition between the Lira and the Euro, like all our future, are an unknown factor that worries us a bit. But everything goes on as planned, supported by commitment and dedication.This year Umbria Colori therefore celebrates its 25th anniversary, with the corollary of 51 years of experience of the owner. Today the company is the regional reference point in the field of paints and light construction.
Umbria Colori deals with retail and wholesale sales for both individuals and artisans and businesses and offers advice directly in the store, where we find a department store (1200 items for sale and 21 brands such as Boero and PPG Sigma, to name a few) and a well-stocked showroom.
The focus is on the field of light construction, ranging from the supply of products and accessories and related tools.
But let’s go in order: the specialization in the paint sector also guarantees the supply of customized colour, through the three tinting machines; Simply bring a colour sample or support (wall/wood/iron). Among the flagship products there are also the paints and effects of the “La Calce del Brenta” brand for interiors and exteriors of which Umbria Colori is a retailer; In addition to plasterboard and accessories, wood maintenance products, furniture pickling and tile painting, great importance is given to wallpaper and decorations in the dedicated exhibition spaces.
Finally, we mention a very interesting department dedicated to painting and Fine Arts, where we find everything we need both in the hobby and professional fields.
In addition to the great help of his wife Stefania in administration and his daughter Silvia, his team includes highly qualified personnel also for international customers; This type of ‘family’ organization makes everything very harmonious. It is Mr. Rossano himself who tells us that he ‘believes a lot in collaborators and their work’.
