We present a new workshop where iron is forged and transformed into practical, beautiful and everyday objects. We are at Steel Fusion in Castel del Piano. A company created by the common vision of Leonardo and Dario, with the indispensable workforce of Samuele, after years of experience in the sector. Today SF produces everything that has to do with the processing of light carpentry, and more. Gates, railings, metal structures, frames, mezzanines, stairs, window frames, wrought iron windows, up to certified welds.
“For years,” Dario and Leonardo say, “we were colleagues, then we set out on our own. We work for the private sector, for the public sector and for large companies.” Gates are among the most popular artefacts: “we can produce them in all sorts of ways, they recently commissioned one of 12 metres, but there are also driveways, sliding, with a ‘double leaf’ opening for cars, but also of an artistic type…”.
The latest arrivals in chronological order are the fixtures: “It is a sector that many ask us, they can be in PVC and aluminium, doors, gates, windows, armoured doors, shutters, windows, windows, shutters, windows, always taking into account the essential combination of “aesthetics plus functionality”». And it is very important, in order to access state incentives, to reduce the loss of heat from the window to the outside: “the exact term – they explain – is ‘thermal transmittance’, but even in this field the customer can count on careful advice from us”.
As for the colour: “We choose it together, today wood is in fashion, such as flamed walnut, chestnut or fir, but also shades of white, red, blue, ivory, slate or graphite”. The works – even for large companies, wineries, farmhouses and accommodation facilities – always start with the measurements, and on average just thirty working days pass from the order to the assembly.
In addition, Steel Fusion reaches the whole of Italy without problems: “so far most of the orders have come from Tuscany, but we are ready to reach even the most remote island”. In addition to what has been said at SF, structures for photovoltaics, such as pergolas, are being prepared with the support of the expert electrician Leonardo Pasquini.
Then the mezzanines: “they can be made of wood or grids, depending on the situation, then structures in beams, bookcases, stainless steel pipes… There is no limit to creativity and versatility.” Working with Dario and Leonardo is Samuele, twenty years of experience, a real window artist.
