Some stories begin with an intuition, others follow a linear path. And then there are those that take shape along the way, moving across countries, cultures, and encounters until they find their own identity. This is the case of Pizza Magia, the project created by Jacopo Aterini, which today brings to Chianti an idea of pizza that is much more than a product: it is experience, sharing, and storytelling.

Jacopo’s journey does not follow traditional paths. His early working years saw him engaged in a completely different field, building electrical panels. Yet even then, a strong desire to explore was already emerging, and work became a means to finance what truly drove him: travel.

With a backpack on his shoulders, Jacopo travelled the world. South America, India, Australia: diverse experiences that helped shape not only a broader vision, but also an open and curious approach to people and cultures. It was during one of these journeys, in India, that begin a professional story.

The turning point came in Australia, almost by chance. It was here that Jacopo came into contact with a group of people working at festivals making pizzas. He started as a volunteer, observing, learning, and experimenting. It was a direct, hands-on approach, built through experience in the field. From that moment on, pizza became a constant in his path.

In the years that followed, Jacopo continued working in international contexts, between music events and festivals, refining both his technique and organisational skills. It was a dynamic but also seasonal job, which led him and his group to rethink their model. This gave rise, in Spain, to a new idea: transforming Piaggio Ape vehicles into mobile kitchens, bringing pizza everywhere—from markets to private events, and even weddings. A flexible project, capable of adapting to different contexts, always with the same spirit: creating moments of sharing around food.

It was still in Spain, in Catalonia, that another idea took shape—one destined to change the course of his work. On a farm, Jacopo came across an old Jeep Willys, abandoned and unused for years. A vehicle with a history that had nothing to do with pizza or conviviality, yet one he immediately imagined in a new light: no longer a military tool, but a vehicle for togetherness.

He decided to purchase it and undertook a complete restoration, transforming it into a unique “mobile kitchen.” A project with strong symbolic value: giving new life to something forgotten and turning it into a space capable of bringing people together.

Meanwhile, in September 2025, he decided to return to Italy. The choice was guided by a clear desire: to reconnect more directly with nature, to have more space, and to move closer to their roots.

It is here that Pizza Magia takes shape, the project through which Jacopo chose to fully commit himself. More than a business, it is a personal challenge: to build something of his own that brings together everything he had experienced up to that point.

Today, Pizza Magia presents itself as a highly versatile service, capable of adapting to different needs. Jacopo works as a private chef for events and parties, offers cooking classes for both individuals and groups—either at home or within hospitality venues—and creates tailor-made experiences for an international clientele.

The culinary offering reflects this openness: from simple pizzas to gourmet creations, always made with carefully selected, high-quality ingredients. Particular attention is also given to specific needs, with the possibility of gluten-free options and customised menus.

A distinctive feature is also the dual nature of the concept: on one side, a gas oven, practical and functional for more intimate settings; on the other, a wood-fired oven installed on the Jeep Willys, which becomes the centrepiece of more scenic events, transforming each occasion into a visual as well as a culinary experience.

What makes the project even more compelling is Jacopo’s international background, which allows him to connect with clients from all over the world. Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese become tools to create immediate connections, overcoming language barriers and making every encounter accessible and engaging.

But beyond the technical and organisational aspects, what truly stands out is the meaning of the journey: Pizza Magia was not born from rigid planning, but from a path—both geographical and personal—shaped by encounters, choices, and intuitions.

A journey that never truly stopped, but which today finds in Chianti a new starting point.
