Once upon a time, it was the anvil that dictated the rhythm of ironworking. Heavy metal bent under the force of the hammer. Today, things have changed—but not too much. The anvil remains, as does the iron, but new materials and less strenuous working methods have been introduced. Francesco and his father Aroldo tell us their story: they have made this craft a true art form. The company has been open since 1979 and today specializes in windows and everything related to ironworking.

Whether it’s gates, metal structures, windows of all kinds, shutters, security shutters, flood-resistant gates, sectional doors, or up-and-over doors, the answer is Dini Aroldo. Since 1979, the company has guided clients from A to Z, offering professionalism and the guarantee of products designed to last.

“The real turning point,” explains Francesco, “came in 2013 with the introduction of windows from top brands such as EMK and Fortinfissi—the very best when it comes to PVC, wood, and aluminum frames.” In short, the passion for windows has even surpassed that for iron. Founded by Aroldo in 1979 as a family business, his son Francesco joined at the age of twenty, adding a fresh eye for innovation to his father’s experience.

“Everything is custom-made. First, we carry out an inspection, then we search for the most suitable solution, paying close attention to climate exposure and the desired aesthetic result. We also use two-tone finishes or combine different types of wood, such as oak on the inside and fir on the outside. Oak is expensive, refined, and elegant—perfect indoors—while fir is stronger and more weather-resistant, making it ideal for exteriors. This way, we combine beauty and practicality.”

As for materials—whether PVC (the most affordable), wood, aluminum, or mixed solutions— each has its own characteristics for specific uses. Aluminum, for example, is ideal for large-scale applications, and so on.

Gates

They are fully customized, with all types of openings, automated or monoblock:

“We install them on-site, and they guarantee stability like never before. The gate doesn’t move anymore, avoiding the typical problems of traditional gates caused by ground subsidence or other unexpected issues.”

A continuous evolution, then:

“Our most recent project involved reproducing the gate of an 18th-century villa for an American client. We prepared the structure in our workshop, loaded it onto the truck, and installed it. When the client saw it in place, the emotion was indescribable—they embraced us! After all, a gate is something you commission once in a lifetime, and it becomes a true calling card for the home. Beyond safety, it’s about representation—it marks the boundary of a property and today it’s as important as a façade or a decorative detail.”

The workshop sits at the crossroads of three regions, in the municipality of Acquapendente in Lazio, just steps from Tuscany and Umbria, right next to the historic Cassia road. Inside, the new showroom displays various types of windows, along with color samples, handles, frames, real-size window models, and patterns:

“Together we find the most suitable solution. The trendiest colors today are grey and white, which are increasingly replacing faux wood finishes.”

Installation comes with a ten-year guarantee, while certified products carry a fifteen-year warranty.

“We attend training courses to stay at the top— also in terms of tax deductions—aiming to maximize savings, with the option of convenient installment payments. We work all over Italy; recently, we’ve been to Pavia, Sora, Rome, and even the islands. From urban apartment blocks to castles hidden in the hills.”

A passion passed from father to son, a source of pride. Inside the workshop, metals still share space with anvils, hammers, presses, and machinery—an ancient know-how now enriched by the technology of 2025.
